Funk
Funk took Soul and worked it on overdrive, adding Rock textures and focusing on one highly accentuated (but repetitive) groove. Stax and Motown were funky but James Brown, with his ultra-tight minimalist groove, and Sly Stone, with his upbeat, psychedelic Soul, get the credit for inventing the Funk. Those cats ran things until George Clinton and his Parliament/ Funkadelic outer-space army fused their sounds with Hendrixian guitars and Zappaesque concepts and comedy.

70s Soul
In the 1970s Soul music reached a pinnacle that it has seldom equaled since. Synthesizing copious amounts of individual creativity, raw emotion, social relevance, the emerging sounds of funk, and inspired production, there is a seemingly endless amount of timeless great music from this period. From the lush orchestration and lovingly slick sounds of Barry White and Philly Soul (MFSB, The O'Jays, etc..) and the topical, minimal, funkiness of Curtis Mayfield and the jazzy consciousness of Gil Scott-Heron to the raw passion and Southern sexuality of Al Green to the pure all-encompassing genius of guys like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.

Szoval a mindenhol samplingelt klasszikusokról szólna.
Azt meg haggyuk, hogy kinek milyen hamar volt mag az apache break vagy bármi más (máshol olvastam ilyet).
Én már születésem napja óta James Brown-t, Curtis Mayfield-et, The Winstons-t (AMEN) és a nagy sampling kedvenceket halgatom itthon.
Szüleim kedvencei.

Volt mit samplingelni, bár sajnos még nem igazi samplerrel, csak szg-vel. Rengeteg bakelit!

Egy stori:
kb 95-ben egy haverral halgattuk a lemezeket, azt ugye én dobmániás vagyok mást nem is figyeltem.
Haver megszólal: te ez tök jó vocal nem csinálunk belőle számot?
Hosszú huza-vona után végülis nem. A szám címe You Praise volt.
Aztán majd leesett az állunk amikor meghallottuk elősször Fatboy Slim - Prais You c. sámát dettó azzal a vocallal.
:-)))))
A miénk biztos nem lett volna fatboy.
