Az amerikai kontinens nem gyakran kényeztet el bennünket új zenékkel, de ha emlékeztek még a a Thievery Corporation duóra, akkor nem fogtok meglepődni...
A Thunderball nevű két tagú csapat valami olyat művel manapság Washington - Bush uralta - városában, ami felér egy forradalommal!
Steve Raskin és Sid Barcelona lassan 7 éve ügyködnek Fort Knox nevű stúdiójukban, megdöbbentően profin ötvözve mindazt amit mi itt Pesten annyira szeretünk; zenéjükben legalább annyi hangsúlyt kap a funk, a soul zenei gyökerek, mint a breakbeat. "A breakbeat minden formája érdekel bennünket'" - mondják - "A tempó csak egy dolog. Imádjuk a változatosságot, hogy megmutassuk, hogy a dub, a funk, a bossa mind összeérnek valahol!"
Ja, és hogy mi közük a Thievery Corporation-höz? Hát, ők istápolták mindazt a tizenvalahány maxit és két nagylemezt ami eddig megjelent tőlük...
A tavaly életre hívott Fort Knox Five nevű projekt Steve Raskin és egy bizonyos Jon Horvath (!) közös vállalkozása, még több break, még több funk, minden, amit a Thunderball keretei nem bírnak el. Pár hónap alatt megjelent négy eszelősen jó saját maxi, illetve bombasztikus remixek a Mo' Horizons-nak, Afrika Bambaataa-nak, Dr. Rubberfunk-nak, Rodney Hunter-nek, a Dynamo Productions-nek, töretlen ívű sikertörténet...
