DJ Krush Returns with New Album, 'Jaku' (15/07)
Japanese mixmaster DJ Krush returns with his eighth original album, “Jaku” on 30th August, 2004.
DJ Krush has revolutionised the music scene with his unique talent to switch between drum'n'base, trip-hop, hip-hop and ambient influences. Having worked with artists as diverse as Sly & Robbie to Eminem – DJ Krush is a perfectionist with an ultimate sense of mixing and composing, the release of “Jaku” on 30th August, won’t disappoint!
The theme of “Jaku” is “Wa”, which represents the “state of being united, well-balanced and having no conflict or alienation”.“Jaku” means calm and peace, which is expressed in DJ Krush’s rare collaborations with “traditional” Japanese musicians such as Nobuichi Kinoshita, Tsugaru Shamisen –Japanese banjo, Taiko drummer Tetsuro Naito, Shakuhachi - Japanese flute, pianist Ken Shima and saxophone player Akira Sakata. There are also guest appearances from NY rappers AESOP ROCK, DJ LIF from underground rap label Def Jux.
DJ Krush is currently on a 22 date European Tour, which includes the Leeds, Reading and London TDK Festivals.
