Az egész több mint tíz éve kezdődött. A Fiji születésű Darin Új-Zélandból Ausztrálián át Britanniába érkezett, és nem volt retúrjegye. Égett a vágytól, hogy megalkossa a holnap zenéjét. Elmerült az ezerarcú London csodaszép és mocskos világában, hogy Freq Nasty-ként születhessen újra. Fejében körvonalazódott egy ötlet: megragadni és lemezen visszaadni a metropoliszok futurista hangulatát; a legkülönfélébb rasszok egymás mellett éléséből adódó súrlódásokat.
Elementáris, éhes, veszélyes témát akart. Újítást és izgalmat. 'A haverom, Vini Medley akkoriban indította el Sour and Emotif nevű label-jét, jungle és trip-hop zenékkel. Én funk-hiphop-rock-háttérrel érkeztem és valami újat kerestem, ami áthágja mindezen stílusok határait; ami odacsap. Ez lett a breakbeat, csak épp akkor még senki nem hívta annak.’ - mondja Darin, akinek pályájáról és az ominózus 'Fuck it!'-faktoráról bővebben az e havi Freee-ben olvashatsz.

Freq Nasty a Spectrum-rezidens Pete Jordan-nel, a Nowsoundos Erkával, illetve TB Gonnal egyetemben október 22-én a budapesti Olof Palme házban lép fel.

nem jatszik breaket es csak dubsteppet ir. az uj albuma is az lesz. de gondolom magyarorszagon nyaron is breaket rakott (nem tudom mar melyik fesztinyálon volt), szoval nem hiszem, hogy itt nagyon fog dubstepperkedni. ismerve zsenialis produceri kepessegeit egyebkent valoszinuleg kibaszott jok az uj zenei .)
