Ha városi zene, akkor amerika, ha amerikai városi zene, akkor Detroit, ha pedig Detroit, akkor Slum Village. Tíz éve, amikor Jay Dee és társai alkotó alakzatba formálódtak, új hangzás született a hiphopban. A tagok a motorolaj gőzében nevelkedtek, zenéjük is hasonlóan töményre és kristálytisztára sikerült. Nincs fölösleges keményítés, csak igazi aszfalton érlelt fekete soul zene, széles gumikon guruló rímekkel. Az MC-k is úgy vannak egymással, mint az ördög jobb és bal keze, nagyszerűen kiegészítik egymást: T3 nyers szövegeivel töri a falat, mögötte a szemüveges Elzhi dzsezzel trükkösen kanyarított strófáival. Néhány címeres kapcsolatuk a hiphop diszkográfia nagy pókhálójában: Pete Rock, Bahamadia, Common, Dwele, Hi-Tek, Guru's Jazzmatazz és Black Milk lemezeken vendégszerepelnek, az ő lemezeiken pedig olyanok működnek közre, mint Kanye West, John Legend, Q-Tip, Timbaland, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Madlib, vagy a legutóbbi BTJ-n itt járt Exile.

Az etalon duót támogatja a szintén alap detroiti forma, Dilla kedvenc MC-je: Phat Kat, akinek Carte Blanche c. albuma a minap jelent meg, többek között a SV hathatós segítségével. Mitöbb, itt lesz DJ Design is, aki mindig a jazzesebb végükön fogja meg a dolgokat. Kért már tőle remixet Bob James, de a Beastie Boys is, PB Wolf pedig az első Stones Throw kiadványok között jelentette meg számait.

A valószínűtlenül ígéretes vendégparádét Sena és Dizko Stu közös projektje, a Forward Ever vezeti föl. Lesz min álmélkodniuk az amerikaiaknak is: a Senának készült DJ Vadim alapok nagyon harapnak, de Dizko Stu ütemei ha lehet, még veszélyesebbek.
