Kis drumfunk kiadók nagy dobásai, avagy mire számíthatunk idén?

Ha bárki is izgulna a drumfunk sorsa miatt (most ne firtassuk, van-e értelme az ilyesféle zsánerek erőltetésének), az megnyugodhat: egyáltalán nem látszik kimúlni. Noha a fülledt és feszült dobparádék korábbi két nagy zászlóvivője, a Bassbin és az Inperspective kiadók reménytelenül elvérezni látszanak, a művészek pedig (lásd: Breakage vagy Fracture & Neptune) szép lassan átnyargalnak más területekre, akad azért néhány kisebb címke, amik itt-ott kihagyásokkal, de időről-időre hallatnak magukról. Sőt, mi több, az idei évre komoly és impozáns megjelenéseket is ígérnek.

Igazán pazar dolog, ha egy új albumot promotáló buli épp a megjelenés hetére esik. Andy C a már legendás Nightlife mixsorozat friss, negyedik darabjának apropójából látogatott Budapestre, és ismét megmutatta a szép számban megjelenteknek, hogy miért is ő az első számú dnb DJ.

Danny Byrd - eufórikus liquid wobble

Annak ellenére, hogy ő az egyik első Hospital artist, sosem került igazán a középpontba az elmúlt nyolc esztendőben. A 2008-as év viszont végre elhozta neki a jól kiérdemelt sikert, kezdve a széttördelt dobok idei numero uno-jával, a Shock Out-tal, és folytatva az alig néhány napja megjelent Supersized névre keresztelt albummal. Hogy mire lehet számítani ennyi jó dolog után, illetve hogy miként jutott el eddig, mesélje el maga a gyorséttermek nagy rajongója, Danny Byrd.

Dub Phase with Cotti & Cluekid @ A38, 2008.05.24

Május 24-én a hajó mélyére vettük az irányt, ugyanis a DubPhase csapat ide költözött egy (több?) buli erejéig. A nagyérdemű meghallgathatta, hogyan képzelik el dél-londonban a dubstepet a saját szerzeményeket publikáló -30 és Bullfrog nevű kiadók főnökei, Cotti és Cluekid.
